BAYWA... It has often been compared to the inside of a tomato: funky. Also, in the way that tomato can be pronounced in two ways, for so can baywa - "bYe-wah" or "bAy-wah". 'baywa' has also been compared to the inside of a ketchup bottle: saucy. The music made is never second-rate, only first or third rate, and the live show is incapable of disappointing.
'baywa' banded together haphazardly in October 2004 to cover a gig for another band that was going to be delayed by a late flight from Pluto. After the concert was played, it was decided that the 'baywa' magic was magical enough to pursue a career in sock-off-rocking/general festivities dispensing. The members varying powers combined to form much more than just an environmentally conscious, very shiny, turquoise-fleshed superhero. It was more akin to such things as a German fraulein whom had been given a new life. Or perhaps a fresh dew-kissed morn on the inner rings of Fallopia. At every concert, produced is a unique experience involving 3 cups of rock, 6 1/2 tbsp. of superfunk, 3 halved and diced Latinos and 555 pinches of awesome.
The band is more tangibly comprised of five members from different thumbtacks on the map of the eastern United States of America, with two members having very wide, oddly shaped thumbtacks- the likes of which span the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. Each member is multiplicatively unique, as you may very likely see first-hand. Groove from Philadelphia, rhythmic sauce from Colombia, soul from Jamaica, attitude from Florida and sabór from Connecticut. Oh Baby!
The band has played at: Kenny's Castaways, Don Hill's, Fat Baby, Galapagos Art Space, Bill's Bar, Harper's Ferry, the Solstice Café, the Asgard Pub, Tommy Doyle's, the Charles Playhouse, Coyote Ugly, the Middle East (up&downstairs), the drummer's living room, the Paradise Lounge, the Bulfinch Yacht Club, the Paradise Rock Club, the All Asia café, and recently we rocked the house at our first appearance in "Clandestino" which is one of the most popular parties in Boston.

xx "On a traffic light yellow means yield, and green means go. On a banana, it's just the opposite, yellow means go ahead, green means stop, and red means, where'd you get that banana?" - Mitch Hedberg
Why do you have a show in Brooklyn in July? Shouldn't you be in Spain? I hope you went... Jesus I hope you went. Anyway, I love you and want you to now that sometimes I drink and listen to you. And I wear your shirts at shows with my new band. That's how much I love you. Love. That's a strong word.
