Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City's Interests
General
Our Bigs and Littles enjoy a ton of different activities, based on common interests and hobbies, and the desire to learn new things. We enjoy organizing many events for our matches, such as an annual Halloween party, summer picnic, and even a recent "Guitar Hero" competition! We also hold Happy Hours to give our Bigs an opportunity to meet one another and socialize in an adult environment.
Heroes
Our Bigs, for wanting to make a difference in a child's life, simply by being a friend and sharing some time and conversation.

About me: Voted Best Philanthropic Organization in KC Magazine's City's Best 2008!
BBBS matches kids from single-parent homes with adult volunteers in a one-to-one friendship. "Bigs" and "Littles" spend a few hours a week together doing normal, everyday activities like going to the movies, playing catch or walking the dog.
By just spending some time with a child, you can make a difference. 80% of the children matched with a Big report improved self esteem, 97% say they talk to their Bigs about their problems, and 68% report improved grades.
Check out our new video!
Who I'd like to meet: There are over 800 Matches in the Kansas City area, but there are still about 250 kids waiting for a Big Brother, Big Sister or Big Couple. Our greatest need is Big Brothers!
