О себе:
Big Brothers and Sisters of Warren and Clinton Counties provides and supports one-on-one mentoring for children aged 6-15. BBBS has been an active part of the Warren and Clinton County communities for 30 years. Our agency currently runs both Community and School Based Mentoring programs.
Our Community Based Mentoring program is your more "typical" BBBS program. This program is where the "Big" goes and picks up the "Little" and takes them out to spend time and go to events and places in the community, such as ball games, parks, museums etc. The time commitment is about 2-4 hours a week. "Bigs" and "Littles" decide on where they want to go and when they want to go, so this program is a bit more flexible than our School Based Program. Community Based Mentoring is available in any Warren and Clinton county community. Kids in the Community Based program come from single-parent families, and are reccomended to us by their guardians.
Our School-Based program is where the "Big" goes to the "Little"s school and spends time playing games, doing arts & crafts, or just hanging out. This program is a bit more structured than our Community Based program, as the "Bigs" go to the "Little"s school at the same time each week. The time commitment for this program is just one hour every week during the school year. During the summer, there is an outing each month that the matches may attend. Examples are The Cincinnati Zoo, COSI in Columbus, the Newport Aquarium, La Comedia, etc. BBBS currently runs School Based programs at schools in Kings, Lebanon, Franklin and Mason school districts. Kids in our School Based program are reccomended to us by counselors and/or teachers, and are not necessarily from single-parent families.
We are always in need of mentors for both programs. We have an urgent need for men as "Bigs", but we need both men and women, young and old. Our "Bigs" come from a variety of backgrounds. All of our matches are supported by a professional staff that has a social work background, and they are ready and willing to work with you if any concerns or questions arise with your match.
