By using a music database of over 3,000 tracks from the past 40 years (including BBC archive sessions from the Light Programme in the 60s to John Peel in the 90s) and a contemporary and influential playlist, 6 Music is the nearest a radio listener will get to the unpredictability and enjoyment of the shuffle feature on an iPod. 6 Music puts the music of today into context with the great music of the past.

Sarah Class is an emerging new artist in today’s music scene. She would also fit right in a new Woodstock line-up along side veteran performers – Crosby, Stills & Nash and Joni Mitchell. Olly The Octopus is a quirky, relevant and up coming folk rock artist on the current music scene. ‘A Call To Arms For Hippies’ is a charity single is released 14th December to coincide with the festive market is to raise funds for the MAP – Medical Aid for Palestinians. It has the sound and style of the legendary Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, mixing jaunty acoustic guitar, accordion and neat metallic percussion. The lyrics tell the story of how the sixties hippy generation failed to follow through with their music and ideals. The song urges today’s generation to change the status quo and use the power of music to change the world for the better.
