IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC AND IT'S ALL ABOUT MANCHESTER!!!!!!!!
The Manchester Music Show
Every Saturday at 9pm, the Manchester Music Show with Natalie-Eve and Michelle on BBC Radio Manchester brings you the best guests and the finest music from across the last half century of Mancunian music.
Natalie-Eve and Michelle
Natalie-Eve and Michelle are two local girls – Nat’s from Middleton and Michelle is a New Moston girl - and it was their love of local music past and present brought them to work together. Both have been regular faces on the gig circuit in Manchester for as long as they (or anyone else) can remember.
As well as championing new acts - Nat helps produce BBC Manchester Introducing on a Sunday night too - the girls have a love of Mancunian (and Salfordian and Boltonian and all the rest) music which spans five decades.
That means you’re as likely to hear Hermans Hermits as Sad Café and Buzzcocks as 808 State, and there’s also regular spins for the post-punk and baggy of the Hacienda and the northern soul of the Twisted Wheel and Wigan Casino.
And it’s not just playing the music they love - the girls are also up for a chat with the people who make it and on the show in recent times have been members of Happy Mondays, The Smiths, Oasis, Primal Scream, The Charlatans and Embrace to name but a few.
Great as all those have been, Nat says one of the things they’re most proud of was the time fellow BBC Radio Manchester presenter and Mr Manchester himself, the late great Antony H Wilson surprised the pair by turning up in the studio – it was planned as a phone interview; instead he co-presented the show, after hearing about the Hacienda Special the girls had produced.
Find out just who will be popping in next and which Manc classics hit the turntables every Saturday night between 9pm and midnight
