That's how illustrator Tom McFadden pictorially describes just one of our nearly 100 songs that you can find/buy online. We liked Tom's work so much, we put it on our site and asked him to do more. You will see them throughout the coming months. Art sure is cool. We want to fill our myspace and our official website with art inspired by our songs. Many are suitable for kids. Some are not. All are suitable for art. Care to contribute? Just send your art as a comment to this page, or to any of our myspace album pages. Be sure and tell us which song your art was inspired by! Maybe your contribution will become that song's official picture posted on its songpage on headflap.com! About a fifth of those get promoted all across the internet, and we will post their official pictures with them.
Alan McCabe started Bernie Bernie Headflap in 1992 with Ursinus College friends Matt Hicks, Chris Wirtalla and Moses.. That original lineup and subsequent lineups recorded and performed live until late 1998 when Alan's health situation caused him to turn the band into a one man band recording project.
In 2006, Alan got a kidney transplant and a year later he and Moses started recording a new album and making plans to play live. They spent 2007, their 15th year, recording and rebuilding. You're welcome.Click on the image below
to meet the new live performing arm of BBH, which goes by the shortened name Headflap. That lineup will play live and record rockin versions of Alan's old and new compositions as well as Moses's. Meanwhile Alan will continue to explore wide musical territory recording alone and with friends under the name Bernie Bernie Headflap.
Our new album, Fear of People is pressed and will roll out to all your favorite download sites over the months to come. We will sell 'em at shows and if things go well, maybe stores will carry them too. Remember stores???
..FIRST FIFTEEN 15 original BBH recordings from their first fifteen years coming soon

A remastered lofi e.p.recorded with an analog 4 track in several bedrooms by 5 guys in mid twenties in 1997.Each band member wrote one song each so you get a mix of personalities and energetic jndie, experimental and general rock.
Jewel Box Edition BBH's 7th album welcomes back original bassist Jim Crowder. The band continues its multi-genre approach to indie rock and explores light to dark moods to a further degree than it has ever attempted before. Even at its darkest, this album is fun.
Cardboard Sleeve Edition Hi, I released this thanks to my generous dad. Much pure love and effort went into it. I predict that it is too diverse to gain a massive following but the few people who love it will be such very interesting folk, it'll all be worth it to meet them.
A collection of electronic pieces ranging from very brief loops and events to very long ambient atonal 12 tone works in the spirit of Schoenberg. Ambient music the way its 70s pioneers practiced it (not so commercial) -- but a little more eerie.
This second outing as a one-man-band uses synths far less quirkily than did the previous album, rocks much more in the styles of Led Zep, Beck, Danny Elfman, Zappa, Joy Division and Bowie, just to name a few.
Here is a newly mastered version of BBH's 1999 3rd album, co-founder Alan McCabe's first crack at a one-man-band version of the ongoing project. It's a crazy eclectic blend of new wave, semitonal rap, synthfunk ala Parliament and mock orchestral pop rock.
This 1998 incarnation of BBH had 5 members and was a cross between pop and hardcore.
'BBH⦠play that sort of happy, geeky (for lack of a better term) alternative rock-pop that bands like Devo, The Talking Heads, They Might Be Giants, etc. have brought into the scene for yearsâ¦..." -- southofmainstream.com
If you like June's album "If You Speak Any Faster," you will also like BBH's 1995 album "Cheese on Wheat" which also reminds listeners of pixies, fIREHOSE and pavement with its raw guitars, extra solid rhythm section and super-catchy songs.
