After seven years, seven releases and about a million different live constellations, and of course loads of fun and offbeat skanks B&B International have decided to call it quits. We feel that we've reached a point, where something new has to happen, so we're not looking back in anger, we're happily looking forward. We want to thank all the wonderful people we've worked with over the years, but a special bigup has to go out to Daniel Sarstedt, who has been there for just about every moment of it.
As a parting gift we would like to offer you the very last track we did as B&B International. It's called "Done With The Fighting", but the title and lyrics has got absolutely nothing to do with our decision. :)
Dub, reggae, hip hop and electronic elements have been the cornerstones of the sound of B&B International since the beginning of their musical journey in 2000. Their new EP ”Not Touching The Ground”, which is a collaboration with reggae singer Wendy Wonder, is a step in a more organic and live-sounding direction. It’s all about proper songs, live instruments and intricate programming.
Having thoroughly explored the world of indie music in various bands during the 90’s, Thomas Borre and Jesper Buhl began a series of informal musical sessions back in 2000, which gradually led to the formation of B&B International and their recording debut on the 2001 compilation ”homeBrew – A Danish Downbeat Compilation”. A host of releases followed on the homeBrew imprint in the following years, culminating with the album ”Hobbylab” and an appearance on the famous ”Hi-Fidelity Dub Sessions” compilation series on the now defunct Guidance Recordings.
B&B International have collaborated with quite a few people; Carla Alexandar, Wendy Wonder, Daniel Sarstedt, Baby Love and the Van Dangos and Joy L. to name a few, and they have been involved with remix-projects with acts like Malkin Zany, Trentemøller, Banzai Republic, DJ 360 and Epo-555. Recent projects have included remixing for Junkyard Productions and co-producing on the new album ”Sambamuffin” by Carla Alexandar.

I nærmest tusind år har dette projekt været undervejs. De sange, som udgør grundstammen i projektet, er sunde børn af en inderlig stræben mod at nå frem til en balance mellem det nøgne budskab og et melodisk opløftet udtryk.
De begrænsede muligheder i instrumentering og optageforhold blev undervejs i graviditeten en slags ven, der gjorde det muligt at forløse sangenes iboende storhed i et minimalistisk og nært sprog, der uden at svigte de underlæggende symfoniske kvaliteter, lod en ærlig og så meget des stærkere besked skinne igennem.
Gennem denne proces voksede et univers frem, som blander lejrbålets intimitet med himmelens grænseløshed og på samme tid bredt og snævert, spejler den menneskelige (sam)eksistens’ vilkår med oprigtig kærlighed og undren.
Vi er glade og stolte. Nu er tiden inde til at musikken skal møde verden. Resultatet taler for sig selv, men der er ingen grund til at lade fødselen ske i stilhed.
