Dan Scanlan, alias, (Cool Hand Uke), my oldest brother, (the person I hold responsible for handing me a funny lookin' wooden object shaped like a women's body with 6 strings on it when I was just 12 years old), to Aerosmith, (early Aerosmith), to The Ventures, to UFO, to Ratt, to Dokken, Zep, dig the Doors, to Los Straightjackets to Dick Dale, to Phil Dirt, to Clint Eastwood, (and Beachwood), to Sponge Bob, to the Insect Surfers, to Slacktone, to Preston Ritter, (Electric Prunes). It goes on and on. The Surf Coasters definitely trip my trigger and The Detonators get me hot and bothered. I dig the edgy balls to the wall surf sound or anything close to it...........
The Surf Rockets?
The Surf Rockets are four friends that get together and play surf music and anything else that comes to mind.
Funny things happen in the practice room.
Each of us are in different bands, but when there's a window of opportunity, we get together for a recording project or a live show.
The Surf Rockets are:
Billy Scanlan (Guitar)
Rob Woolsey (Lead Guitar, Drums)
Marty Tippens (Drums, Lead Guitar)
Doug Forbes (Bass)

The first round is determined only by fan voting, and later rounds they will have guest judges. So please come out and help us win! Even if you don't want to go out on a Wednesday night, come out for 5 minutes, cast your vote and then bounce. We will be giving out free CDs at the show. Hope to see you there!!!
Hi there Billy Blast Off and The Surf Rockets first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't lose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
We have also built a pretty big music community which you are welcome to join if you want to meet new artists like yourself!
Hello Billy many thanks from France for the add it's a real pleasure to be in the lot of your friends it's a nice day for us Long life at your and our music

Thank you so much for being such a cool friend!! I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness!
Just a head’s up: Airing on this week’s “FOCUS IN THE MIX with Denise Ames” is:
Dave Coulier of “Full House” and CleanGuys.TV
Dave says “I’ve been a guest on The Tonight Show, Oprah, Good Morning America to name just a few. I always give the best interview when the host puts me at ease. Denise made me feel right at home, just like the others!”
And I just posted a killer review of the Real GENE LOVES JEZEBEL’s show in Hollywood last weekend in my Blog if you would like to read it
