Ruslan Yusipov was addicted to electronic music from his early ages. Since he got his first synthesizer at the age of 14 he started to prepare some short live performances with the use of it. Later when computer based recording systems and synthesizers evolved at the year 2001 he discovered this new world to push his ideas into the life. His first project under relatively unfamiliar name “TeknoUsa” was mostly web based and spread his music with the use of resources such as mp3.com site which was a starting point for many artists of that time. It was a period at which Ruslan learned the basics of producing not thinking about the genre or stylistic definitions of tracks he produced. At this point he stops producing to finish his Music Education and enter the University. After about 1 year of silence inspired by new sounds of uplifting trance and massive raves of 2004 held in Russia he became totally addicted to this genre. He started to produce again this time releasing records under Exalted alias. Several successful tracks were produced during this period including Cyberflight EP (Somatic Sense 2005), which definitely characterized Ruslan’s sound of that period.
So what about techno? Would ask you reasonably. Techno was somewhat underground and alien sounding style to Ruslan at this moment but he started to implement some techno elements in his productions very early. Techno style percussions were always the part of his works. That was the end of summer 2005 when his first tech trance track appeared. Later on he got acquainted with minimal techno sound by one of his friends. That was a turning point to his career.
“When I heard that bubble style kick drum and some clicks instead of percussion for the first time it sounded too weird for me. But at the same moment I definitely liked it’s airiness and grooving approach. It left a trace in my heart.”
But only one and a half years later in the end of 2007 this trace resulted that he decide to devote himself to techno music. So what was in those one and half years? Ruslan expanded his boundaries and turned to the point from which he started, experimenting with sound and synthesis. At this period he also produced his first tech house track, which was PPK – Resurrection (Exalted remix) that was by no means very minimalistic and innovate. Further experiments with sound bring Ruslan to the world of analog synthesizing which was somewhat very expensive for him at that moment. So he started to work as TV sound director and than moved to film production business.
“That was very hard and time consuming work so I decided to discontinue Exalted project and focus on my sound director job with only one .. Create a professional home studio with analog synthesizer’s and quality sound processing, monitoring equipment to start recording my ideas in a new way.”
The first test of Ruslan’s new studio was in May 2008 when he produced Sergio Fernandez – Change the Tempo (Boosty Remix) track, which was also the first track under his Boosty guise. And that was August 2008 when finally all pieces of equipment were summed together ready to record Ruslan artist albums.
