Announcing the fifth annual “Build a Well for Bono’s Birthday” fundraising drive!
As you may or may not know, the African Well Fundwas started by a group of U2 fans that were inspired by Bono’s activism on behalf of Africa. Since our inception we have held a fundraiser each spring in honor of his May 10th birthday.
“Oh, can’t you see what love has done...”
Donations to the past Bono Birthday fundraisers have totaled over $80,000 and have been used to build and implement clean water and sanitation projects in Uganda, Angola and Zimbabwe. These projects have benefited thousands of people in the communities where they are located. Two AWF board members traveled to Uganda last September where they visited wells that were built with donations from the first two Bono Birthday fundraisers. There they saw firsthand the tremendous difference a clean water source could make in a community. The impact extends beyond the immediate health benefits. In one village they visited, the AWF funded well had enabled women there to initiate a fruit-drying project as a source of income.
They were also able to see firsthand the tremendous need that still exists. Your gift in the amount of $100, $75, $40 or whatever you are able to give, will help to change the lives of so many more. Launching on March 22nd, World Water Day, the campaign will run through May 11th. During this time contributions may be made in Bono’s honor by using the enclosed envelope or by donating online via our website www.africanwellfund.org/donate.html.
The African Well Fund believes that water is not merely a basic human need but it is a basic Human Right. In fact, it is a necessary pre-condition to all other human rights. While progress has been made in assuring this right for everyone, there is still much work to be done. A recent WHO report (that evaluates the progress being made meeting targeted goals for providing clean water and sanitation), states that Sub-Saharan Africa remains the area of gravest concern. Your donation today will directly assist Africa in meeting the U.N. Millennium Development Goals.
Happy Birthday my friend, have a beautiful day with your family and friends.. Make big wishes.. I know they will all come true... Peace, Love and Light.. Huggies Kassandra

Thanksgiving greetings from the hearts of the African orphans to your heart. How overwhelmed the orphans would be if they could see for themselves the bounty that most of us take for granted. How overwhelmed we would be if we had to live for one day as they live, on the streets of the cities and villages in Africa!
The orphans who have been blessed to have already been taken into one of the orphanages where their food, clothing, and shelter are provided have been given a gift of hope from someone who decided to sponsor an orphan and share their plenty with an orphan child who had nothing.
Sponsors know that they have made a difference in the life of a child. Would those who have not yet had that experience please think about it as you plan and prepare for this Thanksgiving season. Would you not like to feed the children who otherwise would go hungry? Your decision to sponsor an orphan will provide food, clothing and shelter for an orphan who would otherwise be hungry, near-naked and homeless.
Hi Bono Birthday Wells 2007 , Happy 4th of July! We are celebrating Independence day here in Atlanta, GA USA and loving the life of true abundance. May your evening be free and fun! Cheers! Catherine

"Passion is the love of turning being into action. It fuels the engine of creation. It changes concepts to experience.... Never deny passion, for that is to deny Who You Are, and Who You Truly Want To Be."
