Straight from the heart of the suburban wasteland that is Barrie, Ontario, comes Brett Caswell, an emerging singer songwriter who has set his sights on breaking your heart, then making you smile. Drawing comparisons to Ben Folds with a little alt-country flavour, Caswell’s songwriting, coupled with the rawness and energy of his live performances have earned him a large and enthusiastic regional following. With the upcoming release of his first solo effort, the tireless work to expand those local boundaries will begin anew.
A talented vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Caswell has drawn upon his innumerable influences, and a few friends, to craft his solo debut Love Waiting. What he has given us is an album chock full of heartache and harmonies, compelling stories of loss, hurt, and self-discovery. The album treads the thin line of achieving variety without seeming disjointed. Ostinato piano ballads give way to twangy country rockers, but haunting violin, dulcet tones, and powerfully simple harmonies tie it all back together.
Caswell’s love affair with making music began in his early teens. Developing his musical persona, and himself, through a series of projects, from alternative rock to progressive metal to country, he has honed his song craft and live performance skill, natural energy and experience making him a presence on the stage. His tenure as an engineer at a small studio has also served him well in the creation of his music. Drawing on these experiences, he has made extensive use of demo recording to sketch out material, culled out the gems, and refined them to sheer perfection. What remains is Love Waiting. Almost upstanding and slightly weathered, Brett Caswell’s out to make you cry, but in a good way.

How many albums/songs do you have in the 'production' environment now? that is, you consider released or releasable?
Any new tracks debuting on your music page in the near future?
All your tunes on here are good, impactful pieces, but I suggest putting 'with you' at the top of your list. Besides "Star outside of your window", it has the most compelling intro.
Hi Brett! How do i get a copy of "love waiting" in Vancouver? - can you send me an address in which to mail a cheque (CD + shipping) and to whom it should be made out? and in turn - i'll send you a mailing address. Or what?
Hahahaha that late-night phone call last night made me insanely jealous i was not in Barrie. That, and several texts from various people about all night singalongs.
