My greatest influence in music, by far, is my father. He was a member of a jazz/funk/fusion band called Backwater in the late 70's to early 80's. This music will always flow in my blood. As a songwriter, I try not to let any one band/genre influence me more than another. My love for music stretches from southern rock including the Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to jazz such as Harry Connick, Jr. and Herbie Hancock, to blues, loving musicians such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dr. John, and B.B. King. I respect any great lyricist... the ones who can write from their heart, but still make it catchy enough to have people wanting to hear it again and again..from Common to Coldplay..Erica Badu to Incubus.
Movies
Boondock Saints, Gladiator, Adaptation, Donnie Darko, The Pianist, Braveheart, and any Quentin Tarantino flicks(the list goes on and on)....
Television
I don't watch much brain wash...I mean T.V.! O.K., I will admit that the science and/or discovery channels catch my attention sometimes, and Family Guy... and PBS.
Books
10 Ways to Kick ADD (So you can actually finish a real book!) Oh yea.. The Complete Rhyming Dictionary Revised.

My dad, for showing me my purpose here on this planet. A year ago, I never would have thought anything good could come of his suffering and death due to cancer...I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for that hardship. Also, my grandfather, for teaching me to love and be humble...and for being the greatest person, in my lifetime, to walk this earth. RIP, dads... Mom, thanks for teaching me R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!! I have the honor to say that I have been raised by 3 VERY strong, beautiful women... What more could a guy ask for! ;~}
About me: I'm a 27 year old with a dream to forever inspire, and be inspired by music. If music is the universal language, than I am definitely bilingual! I am still struggling to understand why it took my father's painful departure from this earth, and arrival to heaven to realize that music was what I was born to do. I'm just thankful that I found out at 25... and not 35 or 40!!! I can assure you that this passion for writing 'moving pieces of audible art' runs very deep... You cut off my hands, and I'll learn to play with my feet.
I am finding out that the possibilities are endless here in Atlanta. Screw the sky being the limit...my eyes are set for deep space! I've learned that if you surround yourself with people that are as driven as you...nothing and/or no one can hold you back. ~
My new band here is called Morningside. If/when you are bored, cut and paste the bands profile: myspace.com/morningsideatl, and tell me what you think of the music. (All comments are appreciated: good or bad). Smile-:~} It's a beautiful day to be alive.

I think Brittany can sing okay but she has a recent interest in Web Design. I thought it would be a good chance for us all to learn a thing or two while helping you out. She's cool as a polar bear's toe nails and smart too so it should be at least a good time. Networking networking drinking drinking networking...
