This beautiful 22 year old Cali girl is a natural born artist. Writing and co-writing everything she does. An organic lyricist with a pop-rock vibe and an incredible voice. Her authentic rasp/rock sound makes her a distinguishable artist unlike anyone on the scene.
Q: So both of your grandparents were successful recording artists with RCA. Did they get you started in the business?
A: Not at all. They lived in Woodstock, NY and I was raised in San Diego, CA. I would visit them almost every year and did learn some technique from them, but they really didn't play a roll in my music career. Too much of a generation gap...ha ha.
Q: How did you get started?
A: Since I was a little girl I would throw private shows for my stuffed animals, family parties, neighbors...anyone who would listen. It wasn't until I was about 14 that my parents starting taking me seriously.
Q: Did you take professional lessons?
A: Yes of course. At 15 I actually started with a vocal coach in San Diego. A few years later after moving to LA I was fortunate enough to begin working with world renowned vocal coach, Seth Riggs, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry....Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand....all the greats.
Q: How old were when you moved to LA?
A: When I turned 17, but prior to that I was picked up by a nationally acclaimed cover band, My very first gig was seven nights at the Sahara in Las Vegas. I was on tour with them for six months; my mom came with me. I remember after performing everyone would get together having fun, but I was back in my hotel room doing my homework. I had to finish high school while on the road. It was an awesome experience. That is where I learned to harmonize, but singing covers was not for me. I wanted to do my own thing; write my own songs. So at 17 I moved to LA. It's been a cool journey so far.
Q: So who are your biggest influences?
A: Gwen Stefani...I love her. She is my idol. The No Doubt cd, Tragic Kingdom, was the first album I ever bought with my own money. I also grew up with Britney Spears, Pink, Alanis Morissette...all big influences of mine. I loved Maroon 5's "Songs About Jane" album, and then of course there is Guns and Roses, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Blondie, I had a variety of music I listened to.
Q: So what are you doing now?
A: Right now I am finishing up writing my debut album working with some of the great names in the industry such as The Matrix, Max Martin, Brian Howes and Howard Benson. I am very excited to be able to showcase this music the beginning of 2010!!!

Happy Holidays to you. Be well. I've read that the holidays can be very depressing to some. If you know someone like that, share this with them :)
1 of the most effective "natural cures" ever documented (really) 4 depression...
Have them stand in front of a mirror...smile...bigger...no, even bigger...that's it...an honest to goodness ear 2 ear smile! Look at you...standing there...strong...powerful...nothing is impossible for you...no limitations...you are the earth...you are the sky...and they are you...now, laugh...bigger...one of those gut bursting, side hurting, deep belly laughs...that's it. :)
