This beautiful 21 year old Cali girl is a natural born artist. Writing and co-writing everything she does. An organic lyricist with a pop-rock vibe and an incredible voice. Her authentic rasp/rock sound makes her a distinguishable artist unlike anyone on the scene.
She is now gigging with her new band and it is a show you are going to want to see!!!!!
Q: So both of your grandparents were successful recording artists with RCA. Did they get you started in the business?
A: Not at all. They lived in Woodstock, NY and I was raised in San Diego, CA. I would visit them almost every year and did learn some technique from them, but they really didn't play a roll in my music career. Too much of a generation gap...ha ha.
Q: How did you get started?
A: Since I was a little girl I would throw private shows for my stuffed animals, family parties, neighbors...anyone who would listen. It wasn't until I was about 14 that my parents starting taking me seriously.
Q: Did you take professional lessons?
A: Yes of course. At 15 I actually started with a vocal coach in San Diego. A few years later after moving to LA I was fortunate enough to begin working with world renowned vocal coach, Seth Riggs, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry....Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand....all the greats.
Q: How old were when you moved to LA?
A: When I turned 17, but prior to that I was picked up by a nationally acclaimed cover band, My very first gig was seven nights at the Sahara in Las Vegas. I was on tour with them for six months; my mom came with me. I remember after performing everyone would get together having fun, but I was back in my hotel room doing my homework. I had to finish high school while on the road. It was an awesome experience. That is where I learned to harmonize, but singing covers was not for me. I wanted to do my own thing; write my own songs. So at 17 I moved to LA. It's been a cool journey so far.
Q: So who are your biggest influences?
A: Gwen Stefani...I love her. She is my idol. The No Doubt cd, Tragic Kingdom, was the first album I ever bought with my own money. I also grew up with Britney Spears, Pink, Alanis Morissette...all big influences of mine. I loved Maroon 5's "Songs About Jane" album, and then of course there is Guns and Roses, Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Blondie, I had a variety of music I listened to.
Q: So what are you doing now?
A: Right now I am perfecting my craft as a writer working with some great names in the business, such as producers, Toby Gad, John Feldman, Andrew Fromm and Kevin Kadiish...also getting my show together... Auditioned musicians for two months to put my band together and they are great ! The girls will love them!!!!
We will be performing next Saturday. August 16th at the Knitting Factory!!!
So I hope everyone will come check it out!
Hello, my friend. Another Tankism to brighten your week. Hope it helps :)
Look at life from the perspective of what you have NOW, what you are grateful for NOW. If you continue to look into the PAST as to what you have lost, when you open your PRESENT, you will not like what you get. However, by focusing firmly on where you are directing your FUTURE by thinking on those things which are good and pure and what you do want to happen, as you unfold your PRESENT, you will find the gift that you know you really want. And, it really is that simple. As a wise person once said: If you believe you can't, you're rightif yet if you believe you CAN, you're right. What do you believe? :)

Thanks a lot for the add ! EletriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check EletriKa out!
One thing I respect about you as an artist, is that for the 100000's of times I've written you, you always take the time to write back. I think that's awesome and I hope you never lose that. You never would tell me what BC stood for though. lol But that's okay. As far as the hacker goes, did you think about blogging a new page for a few weeks, leaving a note on your status, and posting a few bulletins for your fans to follow you? Just an idea. I know we went over a 1000 ways to try to get rid of him a while ago. Do you have a tour or anything planned?
