What is B'DAMN?

Bellingham's Downtown Alliance for Music and Nightlife (B'DAMN) is an organization dedicated to fostering communication between Bellingham’s downtown nightlife community and local government and law enforcement agencies.

Why we exist

B’DAMN formed in response to concerns expressed by members of the Community that an antagonistic relationship may exist between Bellingham’s government and law enforcement people, and its downtown nightlife and music people. We believe that the majority of these issues stem from a lack of communication between these parties; this is a gap we hope to bridge. B'DAMN is a third-party organization representing musicians and other artists, venue owners and employees, promoters, and others with professional and/or personal interests in Bellingham’s downtown nightlife community.

No community can exist without meeting places. As ours is based on the congregation of people from nearly all of Bellingham’s subcultures and social classes, it requires the existence of a variety of establishments open after traditional business hours. We also contend that healthy and diverse venues are vital to both established and fledgling musicians and artists. It is our goal to help Bellingham’s downtown maintain itself as a cultural center by promoting the viability and safety of these venues.
