B.D.I. Loves Musik. Soul, Disco, Hip Hop, Funk, Italo, Techno, Jazz, Library and the list goes on and on. One part Musik Lover and one part Producer, the search for new records and sounds to enjoy for the pure listening pleasure and the need to keep the studio fed go hand in hand.
With releases on Fluid Ounce, Tru Thoughts, Scribble & Rush Hour Records to his name expect 'Tangents' for 2010.
//////////B.D.I. - City & Industry (Rush Hour Records)//////////
Charted No.1 by Messrs. 'Hell', 'Janson' & 'Höppner' (International Deejay Gigolo, Running Back & Ostgut Tonträger Records)
Some kind words from Boomkat & Hardwax Records (Respectively),
"Rush Hour serve up some hypnotic NYC disco-house goodness from B.D.I. The original version of 'City & Industry' works slack drums hinging on an insistently dischordant synthline that should eat up any dancefloor in its path, while the 'Word Balloon Dub' teases with a tumbling rhythmic rerub before unleashing that synth and 'Industrial Kites' shakes up irresistible polyrhythms for a lean and direct workout. Ace wares for fans of Daniel Wang or Recloose."
"Breath taking raw disco techno!"
//////////B.D.I. - The Brooklyn To L.A. E.P. (Scribble Records)//////////
Record Of The Week @ Piccadilly & Tunes!
Some kind words from Jumbo & Fat City Records (Respectively),
"Amazingly good funked up hiphop instrumentals and mashed up magnificence. Taking Funk and Boogie as it's blueprint this canes in the beats and samples making it a great example of what fun can be had in music. Totally at ease on both the dancefloor and the headphones this is 'Blazing'! Very Recommended but be quick as it's limited."
"Total fusion of styles on this 4th Scribble Records release. Hip Hop, Disco, House and Funk are all evident in B.D.I.'s production - a style midway between A-Ko and Pablo! 'Cherry Cherry Cherry' is the most obvious dancefloor track - house tempo disco loops with jazz elements. 'Jesus H.Clown' has a rolling hip hop breaks style, shades of Cut Chemist's funk cut-up work. 'Brooklyn To L.A.' has a P-Funk groove with disco elements in another dance floor track. A high quality output for Scribble again. Reccommended."
//////////B.D.I. - The Science Of Charity (Fluid Ounce Records)//////////
Record Of The Week @ Turntablelab!
Some kind words from Turntablelab & Michael Ruetten (Respectively),
"Downtempo Pick. One of the more desirable records that's come across my desk. Released on the classy Fluid Ounce label, all three tracks are worthy, especially the opener 'Grass Roots'. Reminds me a lot of that Major Force West's stuff on MoWax or Skylab, where they lay down a thick break and casually add variation. B.D.I. puts their signature on this one revealing the sample and turning into an all out jam a third into it. 'Ultra Living' is badass as well with crackly sounds and all sorts of strange percussion textures. Getting played by GP, Coldcut, Zero DB, and endorsed by our very own Bogman."
"Killer Mixtape by a new Project on Fluid Ounce called B.D.I. Check their hot 12", somewhere between hiphop, downbeats and blaxploitation. Cool. A little bit of afro touched music as well as boogie moments."
