Beachkrieg are a trio of german soldiers from the 23rd Bavarian Regiment, who, as the legend goes, were torpedoed while on a troop-ship, by a French submarine in 1914. Hurricane gales swept the three sole survivors, Baron von Krieg, Sgt. Pepper, and Pvt. Peter Dresden, thousands of miles, to the Pacific Ocean. There, they were marooned on a tropical island, and were exposed to, and quickly embraced, surf music.
Rumor has it that Beachkrieg refuse to believe that World War 1 is over, and still maintain a fanatical devotion to the Kaiser. Comments from the band
are scarce, as only the Baron speaks broken english, while Sgt. Pfeffer and Herr Dresden only speak an obscure bavarian dialect. Some say that Beachkrieg were drawn to the Bay Area in their search for Phil Dirt, the longtime KFJC DJ, whom they believe is either some sort of Tiki god, or possibly a high ranking Prussian officer (sources conflict on this).
They have already had brushes with local law enforcement, as well as
local French residents. Local police would not disclose any information, as
investigations are pending, but did hint that the volume of their music has been an issue, as well as their vehicle, the fabled 'pickelhaubemobile', an elusive automotive enigma, seen in public by only a few, and commented on by even fewer. Foggy descriptions speak of a gleaming spiked vehicle, screaming down city streets in the wee hours, a rusted eagle glaring forth where headlights ought to be, whitish purple smoke belching from the twin
beer stein exhaust pipes.
No two Beachkrieg shows are the same, say the few who have attended and can still speak.
