Many beads I create are lucky charms that you can take anywhere. Here are some descriptions of the symbolism.
Daruma
A symbol of good luck and protection in Japan. Usually given to someone starting a new venture/celebration or beginning of a New Year. At the start of an endeavor, one eye is painted and a wish is made...then other eye is painted when the goal is reached.
Maneki Neko "Beckoning Cat" is a common Japanese sculpture believed to give good luck to the owner. The cat's paw is upright, and is displayed in personal or business area. A raised right paw is to attracts money, while a raised left paw (not shown) attracts customers.
Owl (Fukuro "in Japanese")
Perhaps universally revered as wise, it's also known for inviting happiness in Japan...and used as the god for protecting houses because it has nocturnal habit and turns its head at 180 degree.

About me:
Welcome to Simply Beadtiful...this is a hobby I picked up a couple of years ago starting with a book and actually fell in love with it. After a visit from Japan and seeing them everywhere I picked up some books & accesories and it's been addicting ever since. Take a look around my gallery, all of the crystals you see are made with genuine swarovski crystals. I will try to update as often as I can.
Who I'd like to meet:
Here are the books I got from my visit to Japan though many I got with the help from a dear friend.
