Leo, Karen, Pete, Nick and Majied are all in beaker. We are a band from Edinburgh, Scotland. Our current lineup is about one year old, although we’ve known each other since Summer 2005. We have gained an admirable reputation for creating strong live performances with an uncommon clarity rarely seen in new bands. We have thus far played venues across Edinburgh including The Jules Holland Jam House, Bannermans, Cabaret Voltaire as well as many others. Our roots are in spinning spiky pop tune goodness, though we can get quite loud. Our characteristic sounds are made possible by distinctive and strong vocals, individual drumming style and shoeless bassist. Add keys and guitar and mix to create your very own beaker show.
We like lots of bands including eels, placebo, weezer, the velvet underground, the hives, tool, electric six and some others that Leo didn’t pick.
Beaker would like to find a place in the musical world where we can write songs, make records and play them to people who need to waste some time.
