   BeardMcCartneyNow's Blurbs
About me:
This is not a novelty page. This is a movement. And as with all movements, it starts locally. Still, I am prepared to take this to the national and international levels until Paul McCartney grows a beard again. Now my research is spotty on this, but I am fairly certain (actually, I have no idea) that Sir Paul hasn't had a beard since White Album-era Beatles -- arguably his creative peak. And as I launch this page on the eve of Paul's 65th birthday, he has just released his umpteenth solo album, earning some rave reviews. Now he's everywhere again, and for all the right reasons (I love that iTunes commercial where he's walkin' and singin' and playin' the mandolin on that catchy tune, etc.). But call me shallow; I just can't respect a boyish-looking sexagenarian. Now think of Dylan or Johnny Cash. What did their late career comebacks have in common? They both looked ragged. In order for Sir Paul to get some street cred on the level of Dylan or Cash, in order for him to return to those old glory days, all he needs is beard. A ragged McCartney is a McCartney I can respect. So please join this movement. Get on this train. Friend me, put me on top of your friends list and spread the word. Beard McCartney Now!

Thank you kindly, Sir Beard, for befriending our musical ensemble Bellows Falls, one-half of whose chins are ensconsed in the kind of thick meta-mustachio so favored by your noble Let It Be-era physiognomy.

In the news today…there is a report in the Pepperland Bugle that  Pop Go the Beatles, the radio show that was banned in the U.S. will be rebroadcast in it’s original form on REAL MUZIC WEB RADIO.

www.myspace.com/realmuzicwebradio

Every Tuesday night at 9:00 you can hear one hour of the alternate studio takes and mixes plus live in-concert & BBC radio performances that made this show infamous.

According to our source, Ronnie of Ear Candy Magazine in his review of the show:

"I can honestly say that Pop Go the Beatles is probably THE best Beatles radio series that I've heard - especially from a Beatle fan's perspective and what THEY would expect from a Beatles show"

You can find out more about the Pop Go the Beatles through the show's website.

Hello! Passing out some show info for shows we have in the Albany area this weekend: Ben Karis-Nix and band will be playing two shows in their native Albany. Now dubbed the 'Lightning Strikes Twice' tour, these dates are in support of two excellent respective causes: Fire relief and Rock. *New show details appear below* 1/18 - Tonight: Valentine's Music Hall (17 New Scotland Ave., Albany, New York 12207) featuring The Spike Emerson Society, BKN, and 28N closing the night (www.myspace.com/28n). The aim of this show is the more ignoble of the two; the melting of the face and forcible sock ejection. 1/20 - Sunday: Tess's Lark Tavern (453 Madison Ave., Albany, NY 12210) This event is a benefit for Eric and Karen Buckley (www.myspace.com/buckleybenefits) who lost all of their worldly possessions in a recent house fire. BKN at 4:15 PM. Many, many more performers!! For a list of performers & set times check out www.myspace.com/buckleybenefits. We hope to see you there!

Dude, I WISH my beard could be so robust. Does Rogaine work on faces? If the bearded McCartney and Burt Renolds could share their body-hair secrets I could up my wavering manitude considerably. Mine is so feeble... so feeble...

we used to think when we were kids that the songs mccartney sang while sporting beard somehow sounded different on the recordings..like we could hear the beard. we don't mean that in a metaphysical way.

There is a direct correlation between Paul McCartney's beardlessness and global warming. Every day that goes by without a beard on Sir Paul's face, another iceberg melts. Will somebody please think about the polar bears!
