One of my boys, aka Bearplane aka Philippe, just mixed up a techno EP, entitled 'The Portrait of the Artist as a Dead Man'. Now, just because im prefacing this with the fact that I know him doesn't mean his stuff is going to be shittier than what i normally put up. His stuff covers quite a few different stylistic environments, but my two fav songs remind me a lot of Moulinex (which is a great thing, since Moulinex is dope).

Well - beards are in, and so is dance music. But good dance music? That’s a great question. Bearplane gives us the answer that it IS possible to stick out in this crazy world of myspace and even crazier world of DJs. These songs are impressive for any musician, and especially a guy who appears to just be getting started with this electronic side-project. Bearplane manages to cater to indie rock fans who will actually dance to the music, at least from the pictures on myspace, which we suppose is any fan outside of the New York City club-scene.
These upbeat tunes are as addicting as that last batch of Insomnia you ordered. Bearplane has already been compared to electronic masters Daft Punk and well deserves the reputation he is quickly earning. From Middlebury, Vermont, which may be more reminiscent of jam bands and hippies rather than good electro, Bearplane is an exciting new artist who we found through facebook, embarrassingly enough. Minifeed and social networking aside, Bearplane is only at the beginning of a long journey to success - because we have that much faith. Philippe Bronchtein, known to many by his electronic alter-ego moniker Bearplane, has just dropped his new album, Bearcraft Carrier, and bottom line: it’s great.
I praised his first album The Portrait of the Artist as a Dead Man for returning to a so-called electronic-ness of electronic music, and he clearly has embraced that concept fully in his second grizzly outing. That means some of his new songs may not be as easily accessible in an electropop-grindfest context, but forget those who give up early. I’m particularly digging “Dwarf”, but there’s such an sharp, upbeat optimism to all of this battery-operated music you just have to like. (On Bearcraft Carrier

thanks man! I use different stuff for each song. I mostly use a Nord Stage which has some bomb sounds on it (the organ kills). I also use Reason a lot when I'm doing solo tracks. The Radiohead song on my myspace was done only using Reason.
