10 years ago, Michael Martin founder of the Great Beast Theatre Company came up with a concept of solo performances- BEAST WOMEN- and that year Beast Women had its first debut as one of the original all female cabarets. After a 5 year hiatus the show is back. Veteran Beast Women curators and performers, Jillian Erickson and Michelle Power HAVE MADE IT THEIR MISSION TO MAKE BEAST WOMEN BECOME THE VEHICLE THAT SHOWCASES THE BEST OF THE BEST OF CHICAGOS FEMALE TALENT!!! A cabaret of different women’s solo work whether it is singing, performance art, comedy, dancing, poetry, martial artists...etc. You will see nothing but the chosen best up and coming female artist. There are 10-11 performers each night, and with the line-up changing every night as the women rotate so there is a fresh show every evening.
BEAST WOMEN is about celebrating the freedom, sexuality, life oddities and primal strength found in all women. These things help in making us the women we are today.
