Founded in September 2005, Beatphonik currently hold 2 national hip hop dance championship titles, Battlegrounds 2007 and Australian Hip Hop Championships 2008.
Beatphonik began as a collaboration of Melbourne based dancers who share a passion for performing and every aspect of it. With one vision to inspire, create and dance, Beatphonik quickly established itself as an exciting urban Dance Crew that continues to grow with the community.
Beatphonik means to speak through dance and the music whilst recognising the need for a positive and supportive environment for dancers. In doing so, the message is to dance from within to harness the full potential of self-expression.
Directed by Alvin de Castro, Beatphonik members extend their roots even deeper into the dance community, refining their technique and developing individual style by having played active roles in other dance establishments.
Collectively, Beatphonik is home to some of Melbourne’s best talent. Keeping it real, Beatphonik makes cutting-edge dance of a professional level accessible to all through dance classes, public performances, social events, and open training sessions.
