Entering the NZ Top 20 with their debut single 'No DJz', the group have already performed alongside NZ's finest in the game. Initially dropping a track which many thought to be critisizing DJ's, the group says 'the first track was simply misunderstood. Cats in the game thought that we were against DJing and it's art, it wasn't even like that. Listen carefully to the lyrics and you'll find the true meaning of the song.'
Their debut release is a song about how the group began 3 years ago, and was written back then when they had nothing but a guitar to jam along to. They never had a DJ, just a beatbox, a guitar, and their voices! This is the essence of the song.
In June 2006, Beatrootz will be dropping their second single 'YOU KNOW' with featuring vocals by Miss. Purdie and cuts by DJ Raw (...told you it was misunderstood!). In 2007 the boys spent sleepless nights In the studio and refining their tracks and live shows. They also released their track 'We Need A Solution,' which addresses the huge problem of youth suicide. In 2008 Beatrootz wil have another action packed year with Gigs nation wide in preparation of their 2 new singles to promo their Debut Album...SO KEEP AN EAR OUT!!!!
