"I recall one day walking into my cousins house back in 1993 and finding him manipulating samples of old soul records on a little gemini sampler.
He would play the samples manually over a breakbeat record until it finished while the tape recorder was running. That was really my first experience
realizing that you can make music without a band. Since that point Ive been a student to learn as much as I can about making music. At the age of
12 taging along with my cousin to studios in Manhattan (DMechanic Studios and D&D Studios) I was able to see how songs are conceptualized and
really put together. While attending Norman Thomas High School he started out doing street team promotion for various record labels and marketing firms and such as LOUD , Bad Boy,Razor Sharp, Stress Entertainment and Ave. B Marketing. And thanks to a promotional deal we negotiated with
Pallas Records to promote a group called Crucial Conflict I was able to purchase my first sampler which was a Roland MS1. To make a long story short after graduating college was really the breaking point to start developing my skill as a beatmaker and producer (notice how they are 2 different things and not the same thing). BSKI started working with local artists in the Bushwick Brooklyn area such as Soular, F.G.M , Rebel Relz, Sweet Sixteen and Movez. After being in several producer showcases he managed to make some credibe connections in the industry BSKI managed to make several beat placements on MTVs True Life reality series."Its a crazy feeling hearing a beat you made in the privacy of your own home on TV. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. I started telling myself this can really be a career move for me if I play my cards rite". Pushing along BSKI went on to collaborate with a female MC by the name of Sweet Sixteen on a project called "Like the Nothing there never was" that you can now purchase on itunes for the price of (shameless plug). At this moment hes looking to step out the box and try something musically new jumping into R&B, House and Electro-Pop genres as well as still working with Hip Hop artists who are willing to try something different for a change.
