We admire all of the strong women battling cancer, those who have survived and the kind men, women and children who are currently growing or who already have donated their healthy hair to help create wigs for women who have lost theirs due to cancer treatment.
About me: Hair loss can strike an especially crippling blow to women fighting cancer. In fact, a recent study revealed that 58% of women consider hair loss to be the most dreaded side effect they face when undergoing chemotherapy.
To help women during one of the greatest fights of their lives, Pantene has partnered with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) to launch Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a campaign that encourages people to grow, cut and donate their hair to create real-hair wigs for women who've lost their hair due to cancer.
In addition, Pantene has also made a $1 million donation to the EIF's Women's Cancer Research Fund, a program committed to saving lives by raising funds and awareness for millions of women and their families affected by cancer.

Aloha! Just held a very successful event this past Monday! We had 18 donors and collected over 200 inches of hair!! I personally cut more than 16 inches! Check out the pictures on my page!
I donated just on 9 inched back in March and I am currently letting my hair grow out so I can do it all over again.. Some people have no idea how beneficial our hair is to these woman.. I can honestly say that I have never felt so free as I did the day I donated my hair..
I cut my hair (13 inches) on July 10th. It was shocking, and liberating and fun! Everyone loves my new haircut and I know that my hair will be helping another woman. If you are thinking of doing this, I say go for it! Its a wonderful feeling and a generous act.

I've been growing my hair out for years, it's currently down to my lower back. I really want to donate it but I was wondering if you knew of any haircutting parties taking place in California anytime soon, or is that something I'd have to arrange myself?
