Beautiful Mess has been the assumed name of singer/songwriter Michael LaSage since the late 1990's. Since that time he has kept a revolving cast of musicians backing him both in the studio and live on stage, putting out four full length albums and several EP's.
Beautiful Mess has always been a concept of keeping things fresh and new. The music has always changed along with the life and times of LaSage, as have the cast. Starting out as a power-pop sound in the late 90's, Beautiful Mess has been described as everything from folk to alternative, to indie, to electro-punk, to LaSage's own description of it as "just good, fun rock 'n roll. Simple" Whatever you want to classify it as, it's always interesting and relevant.
After relocating to Atlanta, GA, LaSage is now, again, revamping the look and sound of Beautiful Mess. In august of 2007 he purchased a recording studio intown Atlanta and before reopening it for business to the public, he will be working on three new albums of his own, all to be released later this year. The albums will be "three different concepts carried by three different sounds", says LaSage. He also says that the albums will feature some local Atlanta talent that will be "bringing a fresh sound to the table."
