Who I'd like to meet: Bio: Tony Farley
Tony Farley is a lifelong hiker, backpacker, photographer, and traveler. Currently a high school teacher in the San Leandro Academy for Multimedia (SLAM), which is an academy program at San Leandro High School, a California Public School that teaches video production, animation, photography, and special effects to high school kids. Mr. Farley also teaches general science and physics at SLHS and is the webmaster for the school website www.slhs.net
Married, with one 15 year old boy, Tony has combined his media knowledge with his love for the outdoors to create a podcast that was honored as one of the iTunes Top New Podcasts of 2007, Beautiful Places In HD. His new podcast, Beautiful Places: Hiking is due out in September of '08.
Mr. Farley's formal education is in Physics and Astronomy from the University of California, Santa Cruz where he studied as both an undergraduate and a graduate student. His media education comes as a member of the Pixel Corps, a production guild with members worldwide. As a Pixel Corps member, Tony was able to work on production teams for Pixel Corps podcasts including This Week In Tech and MacBreak. Having learned and worked alongside the early pioneers, Tony decided it was time to carve out his own niche in the future of podcasting.
Tony plans to take his viewers on adventures to all the beautiful places this planet has to offer, and also plans to podcast from the Moon and Mars.
