Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Beauty and the Beat is the premier all-female tribute to the Go-Go's. Honoring the Go-Go’s legacy as the first all-woman band to top the Billboard charts both writing their own songs and playing their own instruments, Beauty and the Beat captures the essence of this iconic group’s exuberance and sound. Their set includes most the tracks off the Go-Go’s groundbreaking first album, “Beauty and the Beat,” as well as hits from later albums and Belinda Carlisle’s solo career, spanning genres of punk, new wave and power pop. Since the band formed in late 2007, the group has played a number of venues throughout the Bay Area and Los Angeles area, including Slims, Café Du Nord, Red Devil Lounge, Rockit Room, Knockout and the Stork Club. These five ladies play a tight, rockin’ set and put on a fun, high-energy show—they got the beat!
