Beaux Loy has shared stages with Bush, Avril Lavigne and Dishwala, to name a few. Now, he's branching out with his own international sound.
His voice reaches the soul. "The Other Side," a gripping proclamation of renewal and the more upbeat "Wake Up" currently stand out in today's fare with their modern take on electronica of the 80's. The new LP - Lights Parallel - is scheduled for 2009 release. Loy is backed by veteran Austin players, Mark Jorgenson (guitars and keys), Phil Brasenell (bass) and Mark Son (drums & percussion).
Beaux allows his fans to be part of the journey and has a loyal following because of it. "The Internet's been a huge asset for putting my music out there and the worldwide response we're getting shows it," he says.
At nine, in hometown Dinero, TX, Beaux started writing poems. After a couple of years and his first guitar, they became songs. the hypnotic melodies and intuitive lyrics got the attention of his parent (they themselves grew up with musicians in the family) who helped facilitate the dream. Four-hour road trips to Austin for music lessons followed. Mom, Karen Loy, was the eager roadie and manager, making those drives with Beaux and his brother, Zak Loy.
Beaux's career kicked off when he and Zak finally called Austin 'home." Local success came with their band Damesviolet, via collaborations with producers Mark Hallman, Carl Thiel and later, LA's John Ryan (Santana, STYXX). The band's first LP gained significant local radio play and sales. Music manager, Mark Proct (Jimmie Vaughan, The ARC Angels, Storyville and Vallejo) is credited for taking the boys under his wing early ..ing Beaux hone his skills as a solo artist, musician and songwriter.
Beaux's current ten-song album is produced by Dwight A. Baker (Kelly Clarkson, Heart, Vallejo, Brandi Carlile, Enrique Iglesies) at Matchbox Studios in Austin, then mastered by world renown Vlado Meller (Shakira, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Celine Dion) at Universal Mastering Studios.
