Before Nada Surf were Nada Surf, Matthew Caws and Daniel Lorca were known as Because Because Because. With an English singer and a hardcore drummer they crossed the boundaries between Echo & the Bunnymen-esque New Wave gloom, Jesus & Mary Chain-ish shoegazer atmospherics, and Dinosaur, Jr.-like garage angst, Because Because Because is a lost indie-rock jewel that anyone who is in a band will want, and anyone that isn't will wish they were.
