BECAUSE OF GHOSTS ARE A THREE-PIECE INSTRUMENTAL ACT BASED IN MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA.
.................................................................... Critically acclaimed Melbourne instrumental trio Because of Ghosts’ second full-length album This Culture of Background Noise will be released in September 2008.
The album was tape-recorded in Montreal at Hotel2Tango by Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Silver Mt. Zion) with additional production work from Efrim Menuck (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Silver Mt. Zion) and guest strings from Thierry Amar and Jessica Moss.
This Culture of Background Noise sees the band returning to their roots - stripped down guitar, bass and drums. Working with developed melodies, raw textures, and established composition, Because of Ghosts have created a mature work, further distinguishing themselves as a unique force in the post-rock genre.

Because Of Ghosts have been performing their own brand of instrumental music since late 2002.
After some well received demos, brothers Reuben, Domenic and Jacob
independently released 'Make Amends With Your Adversary Before Dawn'. This record gained an international release with Japanese label
Wonderground Music.
In 2004, the band independently released 'Your House Is Built On A
Frozen Lake'. This EP established the band's strong Melbourne
following and widened their fan base nationally.
'the because of ghosts live 12" with an etching on side b' was
released through Art School Dropout Records late 2004, consisting of
four tracks recorded live in Sydney. A successful tour of Japan followed.
In February 2006, No More Reason, No More Doubt - Selected Recordings 2002 - 2004 was released on Art School Dropout Records. This release consisted of 11 recordings, including now deleted EP tracks and live recordings.

i like your bandname - i am curious about ghosts - not just in the apparition appearing int eh doorway of your grandma's home way but in the quantum physics / unified field of consciousness way - also in the haunting way ie the white haunting of guilt in this land and the black haunting of what they had before we came with our viruses etc - viruses as virtual ghosts - etc - i am freeforming - my wife bought an apple mac lap and its fun to type on - did you know that in the quantum field there is no time and no space ? boo
