Blackstone Music Entertainment was founded by Becca, Kristin,
Julianne and Shelly Cornelius as a tribute to their grandmother,
Helen Blackstone. Helen, who was born in 1922, dedicated her
life to entertainment and the art of singing. She was trained
as an opera singer, but officially began her career in the 1940’s
as a lounge singer known by her maiden name, Helen Florence.
After marrying and starting a family, she then turned her
attention to teaching singing. She taught for over thirty-five
years, and became very well known and respected in the Bay Area.
When one of her daughters, Jeanne, had four daughters of her own,
Blackstone then shared her gift of voice with her granddaughters.
The girls began singing at a very early age, with the youngest too
young to participate in their first show at Helen’s golf course. She
involved them in all avenues of performing, and before long, they
were doing all local theater in the area, pageants and even competing
in state singing competitions
