I love to travel, too. I have been a student/exchange student on 3 continents and 4 countries. I love seeing how different people in different places live their lives.
You Are a Classic New York Cheesecake
Simple and sweet, you are a smooth operator.
You can get along with anyone ... though after a bit of time, you're too much to handle!
Grew up in the 80s and 90s. I like a lot of heavy stuff, like Metallica, Guns'N Roses, and ACDC.
However, I have a strange liking for 60s and 70s music including the Rolling Stones and Neil Diamond, and Elton John. If I was able to ask God for one great gift, it was a good voice to sing (**surprise**) classical music, just like Sarah Brightman, Charlotte Church, or, The Opera Babes. I got into it a lot when I was in college, and I almost added music to be my (double) major. One of the coolest courses I took was "The World of Mozart" with Dr. N. Lester, a concert pianist. Pretty nifty to not be listening to recordings on disc but have your teacher play it right there! As far as music and me, I learned how to play the recorder when I was in elementary school, and later I took piano, too. But I don't think I can really play anymore, unfortunately. The furthest to singing (in public) that I ever got though was college and church choirs. Otherwise, I just think that music speaks what words can't, and music captures an atmosphere, or a feeling so that it actually physically touches you.
Having grown up in Germany I have been listening to radio plays ever since I can remember. My favorite to this day is "Die Drei Fragezeichen", or "???". The episodes are about three boy detectives solving mysterious cases -- almost like the X Files done with teens (but not always supernatural). Anyways, they are my favorite to this day!
Movies
My taste in movies is, let's say, eclectic. I like a little bit of everything. Mostly goofy and scary movies... I like to watch movies, and I like to watch them often. Comes in more than convenient to have a hubby that's working at Blockbuster :)
Movies I like include: Nacho Libre, Napoleon Dynamite, The Hot Chick, Elf, The Polar Express, The Golden Compass, The Muppet's Christmas Carol, Borat, The Omen movies, Spuspiria, The Third Mother, The Exorcist movies, Will Ferrell movies (Including: Elf, Talladaga Nights, Anchorman, Wedding Crashers, Zoolander, Old School, Blades of Glory, Night at the Roxbury, and I can't wait for Stepbrothers), The Chucky movies, The Perfume, Harold and Kumar, Kung Fu Panda, -- anything detective, action, thriller-ish and mysterious, anything scary, and anything hilariously funny.
Television
American Gothic,
Bones,
Cracker,
Dexter,
Dr. Who,
The Equalizer,

Books
Don't read a lot anymore, unfortunately. Work tires me out too much. Otherwise and if I get the chance, I like murder mysteries, with or without cat detectives. I like books like "The Da Vinci Code", "Angels and Demons", "Das Parfuem" aka "Perfume" by Patrick Suesskind, "Der Engelspapst", "The Third Secret", and books by P D James. Another book I started is "The Golden Compass". And of course, cat books. Going with my Bones addiction, I just started reading "Bones to Ashes" by Kathy Reichs.
Heroes
I don't think I have one, and there aren't really any people who I wish I'd be like -- except me.
more animals
This is what I live by. Unfortunately, I didn't come up with it myself. It was written by Max Ehrmann in the 1920s. The name of this great piece of art is: Desiderata -- things to be desired.
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

I love to laugh, I love to laugh out lout, and I love to laugh a lot. I can pretty much laugh about anything, anytime and anywhere. You will see when you get me started!! Nothing beats a good chuckle. I'm a silly girl, and some people say I'm crazy, but they're just jealous. A child-like heart keeps the wrinkles out of your face.
You are full of energy. You are spirited and boisterous.
You are bold and daring. You are willing to do some pretty outrageous things.
Your high energy sometimes gets you in trouble. You can have a pretty bad temper at times.
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.
You may consider me a geek, but I just enjoyed the privilege of 1 4-year liberal arts education. I know a little about many things. A lot about a few, too.
I started teaching Sunday school again, after I took about a 2-year "leave" from when I taught youth group. I thought the "God business" was not for me anymore, even though I have felt called to it pretty much since my freshman year in college, -- off and on. So, the "knockin' on the door, little voice calling your name-thing" eventually resurfaced. So, I'm pretty excited, and I feel good about it. Recently, I have been leading adult discussion groups, too. I have been put in charge of the series "God in the Movies" which my church hosts. This season hosted by Britta. I also just took charge of the Christian Ed. Program!

I go to church every Sunday and this is important to me. I am an Episcopalian, kind of by conviction. I know that one way of experiencing the presence of Jesus Christ is to meet Him amidst the body of His believers and interacting with kindred spirits so to speak. As I mentioned earlier, I feel called to be a priest in this Church, and hopefully I will be able to continue my formal education soon.

I am married to Jimmy, a former Benedictine, whom I love very much. He has taught me the difference between things important, petty, or just stupid. He makes me laugh, and you know how much I love to laugh. He loves me, too, and will do anything for me! In the absence of human children, I am nonetheless mommy to two cats, Pedro and Betty. They were rescued by me from their respective surroundings. I found Pedro in a guinea pig cage in a pet supply store. He was free for the asking. Betty came from the pound. She was the quiet one, who didn't play. She had an extra toe and an infected eye. I saved both their lives. These three are the loves of my life and in my life. Without them I would not be whole and not be happy.
Your Gemstone Says...
You exude wealth and class. (Even if you're short on funds.)
You carry yourself well, and you have perfect manners.
You never seem desperate or trashy. You are admired for your sense of style.
You treat others well. In fact, many people aspire to be like you.
Compared to who you were ten years ago, you've changed a great deal.
In fact, you're probably in a completely different phase of your life - and very happy about it!
As many of you probably know, I am German. I lived there for the first 2 decades of my life. I came to the US to pursue a college degree, and I earned my BA cum laude at Hood College in Frederick, MD majoring in Religion.
How cute... My own German name, lol!!
Who I'd like to meet: I constantly stumble into wonderful, fascinating people, wherever I go. I would also like to be reunited with those who I loved very much.
Katzi...
I know I will meet her again one day. In heaven, at the rainbow bridge, or where ever. She was my best friend for 10 years, 7/1997 - 7/2007. Katzi was a pedigreed British Shorthair cat, and was given to me as a gift by my mom after I graduated high school. I got Katzi from a breeder when she was approximately 4 months old, and her real name was "Jackie of Noah's Arc". Weird name... I just new I didn't like that one, but it still took me a couple of days to come up with her name. Katzi! She shared my first own apartment with me, and she came with me from Germany when I came to America. She was so good! Did a trans-Atlantic flight in her little cat carrier, without any tranquilizers! Cause lil' Miss Stubborn didn't want to take her pill at Frankfurt Airport! But she was fine without! Kept checking on her throughout the flight, but she never vomited, never accidentally went to the bathroom. She was the perfect cat! We were briefly separated when I was in college, but after Jimmy and I got married and moved to Seneca Falls, we picked up Katzi shortly afterwards from my dad's house. She had a very sweet, patient, and lovely personality. She was never destructive, and she was never sick. Around my birthday this year, though, she fell seriously ill; she had fluid accumulated in both sides of the lungs, and even though I had it removed and spent fortunes having her treated medically, she sloely got worse. Once weighing in at a proud 18 1/2 pounds, she lost about 20% of her body weight. In the end I needed to make one of the toughest decisions in my entire life and allowing her to go. She died yesterday, on a sunny summer morning. July 21st will from now on be Katzi memorial day for me, to celebrate her life, friendship, and all the love she gave me. I will always remember her and carry her in my heart.
...Jesus.
Really. I may be a really, really silly, goofy, and hilarious girl, but I believe in doing the right thing. Religion has helped me a lot through pretty tough times. Believing in God and Jesus is not an easy thing to do -- nobody said it would, but in the end, I think, it's a thing to be felt, experienced, and, well, known.

I love to meet all kinds of people from different places and backgrounds. Unfortunately, my passion for travel has remained unsatisfied lately, except for the occasional trip back home to Germany. I hope to still go many places and to see many new things...
Hi ya. As busy as I am, of course, any changes to my calendar are a pain. So the release of "2012" has been pushed back to NOVEMBER to grab the holiday B.O. (LOL) instead of the summer B.O. (I guess summer B.O. smells worse). "Guys and Dolls" doesn't officially open on Broadway till March, but you can see the Big Guy in previews that begin February 4 if you're in the New York area.
I will be studying in Cape Town for 4 weeks, and then I will have a one-week long break. I think over the break some friends and I are going to go to a wildlife park too! I'm so excited about everything, it just looks so beautiful. I'll be there during March and the beginning part of April, so it should be warm but not too hot? Thanks for all the advice so far!
I did not know that! Do you have any advice for me about South Africa? Or anything I should be sure to see? We have one week of vacation time while we're in that country so I need to plan something to do. I'm getting soooo excited about going!
It's good to hear from you; I'm sorry I'm terrible at keeping in touch...school has been so busy. I hope things are going well for you!
