mudhoney, yo la tengo, afghan whigs, sonic youth, slint, the breeders, slowdive, my bloody valentine, siouxsie&the banshees, katie-jane garside, bauhaus, mission of burma, gybe, L7, babes in toyland, yoko ono, wire, television, the slits, james chance and the contortions, jesus and mary chain, ramones, stone temple pilots, pearl jam, alice in chains etc.
formed in 2001, by ipek gorgun and ilker cece, who were later joined by evrim ataman and onder sevimli. they organized some of their past improvisations and released an e.p in 2003, titled "this is what happened". during the year 2004, they performed in many clubs of ankara such as manhattan, saklikent, etc.
after a small period of turbulence with evrim and onder leaving the band, bedroomdrunk came back with volkan erdogan on additional guitars and edil demirel on drums. and now, they are playing with doruk karlidag on drums and they released their second e.p, "raw", recorded live in june 2007, by volkan yirtici in detay studios. the band broke up in august 2008. now they are back again.

Au plein coeur de la Turquie, à Ankara plus précisément, un groupe atypique explore un sombre chemin. Son nom : Bedroomdrunk!!!
Encore un blaze pas piqué des hannetons. Peut-être une incitation à la consommation de raki avant d'aller rejoindre Morphée, voila un nom que l'on n'oublie pas au moins.
Le groupe a sorti son premier album "This is what happened" en 2003 et tourné de façon intensive.
Après des soucis de personnel", Bedroomdrunk nous sort "Raw" en 2007.
Le premier morceau "her against me" résonne à la façon du "Teen Age Riot" de Sonic youth sur l'album Daydream Nation. Un leurre trouble, inquiétant à la manière d'un cheval de Troie dont on ne mesure pas tous les dangers.
Au fur et à mesure, s'installent des barricades de distorsion, gangrenés de sons parasites. La tension s'installe, la guerre a commencé...
Impossible d'éviter la comparaison avec les vétérans du rock indépendant: Sonic Youth. Leur fusion du punk, de la pop et de la noise, demeure encore aujourd'hui une base fertile pour des tas de groupes.
Mais Bedroomdrunk n'est plus un enfant!!!
Le groupe a su développer une personnalité propre au travers de ces compositions, à la fois sombre et naïve. La bande son d'un adolescent face à ses crises existentielles, basculant entre l'envie de vivre ou d'en finir.
Un groupe à surveiller de très prés (c'est qu'il pourrait faire une connerie!!!)"

Bu müzik doğası gereği kırılgan, hafiften karanlık, yürek burkucu ve öfkelidir. Bu unsurlar bedroomdrunk'ın müziğinde ön plana çıkıyor. Nasıl bir grup düşünmeniz gerektiğini açıklayayım. Sanki Dinosaur Jr'dan J.Mascis ve Sonic Youth ekibi bir araya gelmiş, Frank Black ve Siouxsie & The Banshees'den fikir alıp indie müziğin gerçekten heyecan verici olduğu yıllardaki gibi bir demo kaydetmişler. Ve şu da var, bu insanların yaşı daha kemale ermemiş. Demoyu dinlerken rahatlıkla J.Mascis ve Kim Gordon'ın vokal düellosu yaptığını düşünebilirsiniz, oysa burada düelloyu Evrim Ataman ve İpek Görgün yapıyor. İlker Cece'nin gitarları "This Is What Happened"a tam anlamıyla can veriyor. Önder Sevimli'nin davulları ise demonun hiç aksamadan tamamına ermesini sağlıyor ki bu ülkede yaşanan en büyük sorunlardan biri davulcu sorunudur diye hatırlatmak isterim. Özellikle 'From The Past'in tam anlamıyla enstrüman şöleni olduğunu, bu şarkıdaki davul ataklarının, yerli yerinde kullanılan bas'ların, gitar soloların demoyu iyice etkili kıldığını söylemem lazım. Elbette bu demoda teknik değil ruh konuşuyor, yani enstrümanlara bu açıdan yaklaşmanızı tavsiye ederim. Açılıştaki 'Porcelain Fries', Kylie Minogue tribute'su 'Spinning' ve 'Pain's Caused' demoda en sevdiğim şarkılar oldu. "This Is What Happened" ise son zamanlarda en çok döndürdüğüm CD ki yazdığım diğer kritiklere bakacak olursanız iyi albümler açısından zenginlik yaşadığımı görürsünüz. Bana kalırsa bedroomdrunk çok iyi grup ve yürüyecekleri yolu çok iyi biliyorlar. Müzik konusunda fikrine güvendiğim birkaç kişiye demoyu dinlettim ve hepsinden çok olumlu yorumlar aldım. well, I'm listening to your album right now (thanks for just giving it away)... pretty good stuff. my kind of rock music. I have always wanted to play in such a band, but circumstances have forced me to take a lonelier road. but nevermind that. I like the structure of your songs, I like your tunings even more, and congratulate the singer on my part. she gives me shivers.
