The Bedroom Utensils are comprised of 5 individuals with only one purpose: To play a unique, refreshing brand of music that audiences can immediately identify with without any attempt to revive useless past glory. In other words, straight-up "bullshit-free" music without musical stereotypes or 80's cheesy leather pants.
The band was started in 2006 as the brainchild project of current frontman/lead singer Jules and lead guitarist Darrell. Kenneth was then recruited to bass duties despite originally trying out for the drummer position. From there the band went through quite a few shuffles in their lineup before settling on Ænimic on second lead/rhythm guitar and Karthik on drums. The band then went on to playfully toy with the facetious idea of several makeshift band names before settling for the ultimate moniker, Bedroom Utensils.
With each individual member coming from totally different musical backgrounds, this has resulted in the band melding many different elements from a cadenza of various influences into a diverse yet focused sound. The band does not bother with musical labels, genres or conformity but with only a single goal in mind: To keep playing awesome music to a rocking crowd who will hopefully all get hard-ons.
