   About BEECAKE
Based in Glasgow, Scottish band Beecake are Billy Boyd (Vocals, Guitar), John Crawford (Drums, Vocals), Billy Johnston (Guitar, Piano, Vocals) and Rick Martin (Bass, Vocals) they have all been long-term friends and played individually and together in various bands over the past several years. Beecake was formed in late September 2006 over a bottle of malt whisky in a Glasgow bar when the guys remembered how much they loved making music together. After selling out their first gig as Beecake at Barfly, Glasgow in January 2007 and having fans travel to see them from as far a field as Japan, Germany, Italy, and the USA, they decided it was a good time to record the music they were making. In total five tracks were recorded which would later be released as their EP “Just B”. Since that time they have played many successful shows all over the UK, Europe and to the USA. Through these shows Beecake have gathered a very dedicated live audience and in the fall of 2008 Beecake won the Tartan Clef Best Live Band, at the Nordoff Robbins Music Awards. Beecake have hit the number one spot on the myspace unsigned charts within the UK several times and continue to regularly hold a position within the top 10 unsigned bands in the UK, in various genres, they also continue to hold a respectable position within the myspace worldwide-unsigned charts. Beecake have to date played live with such artists as The Fratelli's, Sharleen Spiteri, Sandi Thom, The Attic Lights, Big Country, BMX Bandits, Amy MacDonald and Eddie Reader. In the summer of 2008, Beecake entered the studio again to start work on their debut album. Now with the album just finished, Beecake are very excited to be going back out on the road, trying out the new songs written for the album, and enjoying the thrill of taking the sound they found for their studio album out to be experienced on the live stage. Um...yeah...

I remember the conversation about the chocolates...I'd never heard of them before...and there were a few on here who had...and HIGHLY recommended them.

I would leave a bag of them in Anna's room as a thank you for letting us have her bedroom when we visited our family there.  She enjoyed them.

I am so glad for honeybee friends!  Oh wait...I've said that already...*giggles*  I've learned a lot from the worldwide friends I've met here.  : )

So BEECAKE!  When will that new cd be available online?  I have some friends who would like a copy of their own.  Would be marvelous to be able to make that a Christmas pressie...

: )

Hello everybody!

Random Beecake fan - Glad I could make you smile. Cologne is really beautiful....and I miss it! But it is not so far from here so I can visit my friends there how often I would like!

I agree with Shirley! Unfortunately I havn't met some of the Honeybees in person yet or saw our wonderful boys live on stage (but I will never give up the hope )..but I met so fantastic people here on Beecakes page! It's like a little second familly!

Thank you guys for that....and for your fantastic music !

Kiki,
I've been to Cologne Cathedral!  It is beautiful!!  I remember that walk up the spiral staircase...wow!   And grabbing a nice hot drink at the open air restaurant across the street.  And having the best ghoulash ever as well as great beer after a walk in the cold.  Thanks for bringing back some great memories. I loved Germany! :)

I definitely recommend it to Beecake for a gig. ;)

Hello Shirley!  That was me!

I LOVE THEM!  I call them chocolate balls!  The dark chocolate and white chocolate balls are the BEST!  BUT I just discovered the other day that they come flat too and are just as good!  I could talk chocolate balls all night!

I have a pretty disgusting/funny story about chocolate balls and me when I was in Boston a few years ago.....  But uhhh.... I'll keep that to myself!

I am thankful today for those of you here who told me about the Lindor truffles...and thankful that I had opportunity to share them with Anna a couple of times before...

(((hugs)))

Beecake...thank you for allowing us to communicate here.  This is one of the most unique places on the net.  I am so grateful for the friends...even some as close as sisters...I've made via your site...and it's still amazing to me that I got to meet some at your gigs.  I hope I get to meet more someday!  Honeybees Rock!  LOL!  So does Beecake...of course!  ; )

Hey Beecake and honeybees!

Elaine - glad you enjoyed the trip
Shirley - a special hug for you my friend
Lisa - WOW

I was for a few days in my hometown Cologne. Does anyone know the Cologne Cathedral?
It's amazing! When I lived there, I was many times in it to spend time for myself!

Of course this time I visited the Cologne Cathedral again. And I light up a candle for Beecake and famillys and for the honeybees and their famillys!

Hope everybody had a good start in the week!
