About me:
BEED Film Productions was officially founded on September 30, 2006, but the history of the people behind the company goes back about two years prior to that date. Tim May and Dan Kinem became friends in 2004. Due to their extreme love of cinema, they started developing dreams of becoming filmmakers not long after. They began work on a script titled Lakes of the Undead in early 2005. The film was to star themselves, as well as their friend, John Gillis. Although the pair never finished the script, their filmmaking aspirations never faded. They tried writing other scripts (most notably Pedestrians, a conversation piece that never panned out.) As many of their friends became involved with the filmmaking efforts of May and Kinem, many projects were thought of, and never realized. When Kinem's Intro to Video Production class required him to make some sort of short film, the pair saw this as their chance to actually get something done. However, fate seemed to intervene. The film, entitled The Man With the Suitcase, had a primary chase scene that was shot in April of 2006. Not an inch more film was shot for The Man With the Suitcase. Kinem went on and shot a sporting event instead. On September 30, 2006, Kinem shot The Duel, starring Chris Sennett and Joel Smith, the stars of the ill-fated Suitcase project. Later that day, May joined Kinem, and they shot a short entitled Vagrant, starring Smith and May himself. The pair dubbed their production house BEED Film Productions, after Sennett's nickname, Beed. Dan Kinem and Tim May, along with their acquaintance, Andrew Crossley in Mexico, make up the filmmakers at BEED Films. The fledgling company hopes to have a bright future ahead of them.
