   Hakkımızda The Beef Slough Boys
HISTORY: The Beef Slough Boys originated several years ago, when two mild-mannered school teachers on an afternoon fishing trip drifted into the cursed Beef Slough, an Upper Mississippi backwater channel near Alma WI with a long and strange history. Jeff Morgan and Scott Lowery returned from fishing with tales of a bone-chilling encounter with an amphibious Voodoo Mama, who transformed them into Lester and Lou Slough, cursed to wander the Mississippi river bluff region plying their unique and curious musical trade. To this day, they continue playing what has become known as "Sloughgrass", a gumbo-esque musical mixture of riverboat rags, stringband blues, free-range originals and early country classics. Lester and Lou have recruited several other vagrant musicians to join them in their murky mission, including the current lineup of Pryce Taylor on bass, Mike Johnston on fiddle, mandolin and piano, and Jim Reineke on banjo, mandolin, mandocello and autoharp. Look for the Beef Slough Boys at your local Farmer's Market, coffeehouses, taverns and other dark sanctuaries for those of low character and ill repute.

BOOKINGS: We're available as a duo or full band for parties, celebrations, and events of all shapes and sizes. Contact Scott by email, phone, or even USPS...

"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)

Promotional Video(My Girl From The South Sea Isles)

"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff

Scott,
Just a short note to say thanks for the fun and music. I really enjoyed playing the gigs with you at the Artichoke, Bayleaf and Farmers Market. Lot of MUZE and lots of picking. Always fun to make fellow guitar friends. I really liked the sound of your vintage Gibson-SWEET!
Hope we can do it again and keep on picking!

Thanks for being our friends, and long life to the sloughgrass. If you ever meet that Voodoo mama again, will you please ask her to bring us back our souls?

hey! i had a great time in mexico. definitely a tid bit different that the US i would have to say. visuals on myspace page would be: A good looking wiseman and an attractive woman as a profile picture. Hey, it works for me, haha. I bought a new washburn acoustic on musicians friend that was $120, but plays like a million bucks. I'm thinking about getting a resonator or a nice F-style mandolin also. You need to make it down one year for winfield bluegrass festival or the walnut valley festival so we can stay up till 3 in the morning and jam with people we've never met.
sound like a plan?

Scott,
Sounds like you have been real busy with everything. Wow, thanks for using my music for such a special occasion, makes my day. Slide is a whole new world but I like the sound. Keep me posted on the progress. I like alot of Fahey's old slide stuff. I don't envy you with all the snow. Time to head to New Mexico, sounds like you will be ready for the trip! What would we do without the MUZE during the winter?
Keep On Picking and stay in touch.
All the Best
Vince
