Every Thursday night at The Unicorn, come and watch a Frog rip it, hear a Bird sing it and a Ryan beat it. With "special" guests every week. You won't leave disappointed, Guaran-damn-teed !!
January 2007
Mike Jessup is back!! Many of you will remember Mike from when he played in the band in the mid - 90's. A fine bass player and singer with a wacky sense of humor-Mike is a great addition. Many thanks to Dennis Ramsey (our old bass player) who has taken a day job that will require most of his time and a lot of travel. Good Luck Dennis!!!

Art "The Hammer" Phelps is our new drummer and
MAN (!!!) he's put a huge kick in the sound and
spirit of the band. Get out soon to see the new
lineup!

FROG & THE BEEFTONES
One of Michigan's favorite bands, FROG & THE BEEFTONES, can be seen rocking mid-Michigan's
nightclub and concert stages every week.
(in 2008 we did over 165 shows)
High energy, high musical proficiency and an
off the gauge fun factor add up to a great time for both the band and their listeners.
It's a 100% all beef musical menu and the audience never leaves hungry.
Since 1985 the 'Tones have done shows with Molly Hatchet, Blue Oyster Cult, Autograph, The Texas Tornadoes, Joe Diffie, Sleepy LaBeef, Rare Earth, Larry McCray, James Harmon, Bill Kirchen, Jack Green, Stonewall Jackson, Edgar Winter, Mitch Ryder, Mountain and many other national acts at clubs, county fairs and festivals around the midwest. Every year we do shows for WMMQ
(classic rock) radio.
In 2000 we
even played at Olds Park before a Lugnuts game!
Make a point to come out and see us - we always have a great time!!!
Here's some nice quotes from the local press:
If you've been in Michigan for more than a couple of days then most likely you've heard of Frog and the Beeftones. Here is a group that knows how to take it out of the gate screamin'. Led by their incomparable guitarist Frog, this group is always looking to get the crowd up and movin'. If you like your blues with a healthy dose of rock n' roll then this is surely your bag.
How can you not like a band with the name like Frog & the Beeftones. Frog's blazing fingers have no trouble bringing sounds from the crowd like "Ohhh" "Ahhh" and "I can't see his fingers they're so fast." Fast and accurate, Frog has a reputation for never missing a note or having a muddy sound. Think of Steve Vai or Gary Moore and you'll understand Frog's crowd appeal. You've got some kick butt music that's 100% Beef!
Lansing is still a provincial town. Perhaps the answer to the end of The Temple Club is in the next block over at The Unicorn Tavern. I visited recently one Saturday night. The bar was packed! The entertainment was one of Lansing's best bands, Frog and the Beeftones.
