The new Beerjacket album Animosity was released digitally on 8th June, 2009 on iTunes, eMusic, LaLa and Amazon MP3.

A limited edition digipack CD version is available at shows and from Avalanche Records in Glasgow.

Tracks from Animosity have been receiving regular national and international radio airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Scotland and Melbourne's Triple R.

Press coverage has included full-page interviews in Rolling Stone, The Herald and The Scotsman, as well as album reviews in the Daily Record and The List.

"Sometimes simple is best: Scottish troubador Beerjacket makes Born in the USA-era Bruce sound like Devils and Dust-era Bruce, stripping “Dancing in the Dark” down to a few plucked chords and its timeless aching melody." Rolling Stone

“In a cluttered genre, Beerjacket has emerged as one of Scotland’s best singer/songwriters.” The Scotsman

"Like an iron fist in a velvet glove... whispered vocals, plaintive harmonies and nimble fretwork that could give Bon Iver or Elvis Perkins a serious run for their money." The List

"Comparisons with Elliott Smith are unavoidable – no bad thing if you like your tunes" Daily Record

"His deceptively pretty songs are underpinned by their anxious, fluttering heartbeat of a kick drum, while his near-possessed demeanour emphasises the eerie, offbeat nature of their lyrics." The Skinny

"His prolific output of albums offer an endearing lo-fi sound that lets the calibre of his songwriting steal the show." The Pop Cop

“A f***ing phenomenon. It really is that simple.” Glasgow PodcArt

"This is like Elliott Smith never died. This is lo-fi pop music at its very, very best." Song, By Toad

Waiting patiently for the new album, Island is actually stupendous.

The lyrics at the chorus are killer.

So when's this radio session, I thought it was last night for some reason.
