About me:
Beese’s Bar and Tea Gardens was founded in 1846 by Mrs Beese, who provided refreshments to the many travellers using the Conham Ferry, the captain of which was Mr Beese.
Beese’s is now run by Phil and Lindy Leahy, who are proud to be the custodians of part of Bristol’s history.
The Conham Ferry runs from Beese’s to the Hanham side of the river, and is the oldest river ferry crossing on the River Avon. We are delighted to carry on the tradition by operating the ferry during our opening hours.
Our fully licensed free house and tea gardens are available for private bookings, corporate events, birthdays, weddings and parties etc.

Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who enjoys a drink or a meal in pleasant riverside surroundings, all in the middle of Bristol. We have regular music events - in 2007 we started the Beeses Open Mic night, and it has fast become a favourite of many open mic performers, with new performers appearing every week. We have had acts ranging from an eight-piece male á cappella group rocking the hell out of some 50s rock'n'roll to a rapping juggler. Or maybe a juggling rapper...whatever.
Live music is a big feature at Beeses. We always have several bands on during our beer festival, as well as other gigs throughout the year, and we have featured such luminaries as Gypie Mayo (ex-guitarist with Dr Feelgood and The Yardbirds) and Eddie Martin.
