Rev. Brian aka beet's Blurbs |
About me:
My name is Brian and I have lived in NE all of my life. I have worked as a licensed veterinary technician since 2003 and I enjoy it for the most part but I have some complaints too. As an animal rights advocate I feel unfortunate to live in an agriculture state where animals are commonly regarded as property, treated as machines, or as if they are disposable. I urge everyone who cares about animals to spay and neuter their pets, only adopt pets from humane societies, and give a vegetarian diet a try...or at least try to eat less meat or only meat from conscientious, organic farms. I have been a freethinker/humanist for as long as I can remember. I am Group Coordinator and one of the founding members of Lincoln Secular Humanists. I also helped found Lincoln's Underground Network Collective (LUNk Collective) which heads up the alternative media project - www.lunkradio.org and the LUNk Collective House/radical lending library. Much of my time is dedicated to humanist or libertarian socialist related activism. Feel free to message me if you would like to talk.

Humanists derive their ethics from compassion and
scientific reasoning rather than dogma or tradition.
The mission of Lincoln Secular Humanists is to defend
the separation of government and religion, fight
intolerance, educate the public about the importance
of secular society and encourage scientific inquiry
and discussion.
