Young Marble Giants, obscure 60's-70's hits.Which I guess may not really have been big hits if they were obscure.Like Hope For Happiness by the Soft Machine.
I could go on and on and on with band names really.
When your dad's a DJ growing up,you hear just about everything.
Some good..and some not so good. But overall I'm not limited to what
I'll listen to.Lotta good stuff to dig up!

Before Cars started out as an idea to record a few songs I wrote.I had thought about doing solo stuff for awhile, but I just never got around to it.
After awhile I got tired of depending on so many others and various weird stuff eventually dissolving bands I would play with.
Anyways,I got together with so close friends of mine, Paul Burback & Andy Miller and showed them a handful of my songs. From there we made a bunch of 4-track recordings and picked 4 songs to make a demo.Wasn't long after that,Rob Daily from Flotation Records(local label) contacted me about doing a single.
So back in late 2006 we recorded the single which was released on vinyl only, and consisted of the songs "Old Chair" and "99 To Go".
After that I started working towards a full length record.
This took quite some time, heh.I recorded the record with Jack Endino in early spring and
with some unforeseen delays, we finally got the record done in the summer.
Had more delays with artwork and I don't remember what else.
Finally after a year of the record being done, it came out back on June 16th of this year.
and "wheeeew" is all I have to say about that stuff! :)
On a side note.I'd like to mention I wrote this listening to the Blackouts "Men In Motion" EP. Damn that records good!
Yet another side note thingy.I have never read through a single book written about Nirvana or Kurdt.Guess I just feel odd reading stuff I lived, heh.
With that being said. There is a book that came out recently entitled "Grunge Is Dead" by Greg Prato, and is actually a very interesting read.Mostly due to the fact that it's pretty much filled with comments and stuff from just about everyone that was around during those years.More of the insider on things than the outsiders attempt to fill in the blanks!
Anyways,I do recommend this book. It's a fun read!
Ok,that's quite enough outa me!
Cheers! -cHaD

So we play the Alehouse every Thursday and Sunday night. I keep hearing that you guys are there sometimes and we've have still not met you. We love Paundy man! And of course it goes without saying that Before Cars is rock solid... haha.
Anyways. I hope we meet each other soon. We like to have a good time up on stage just like you. We actually want to start playing each others instruments on different songs because we thought it was awesome when you guys did that. Oh... and good luck with our European tour! Kick their ass!
