BEFORE THE TORN aren't just another Portuguese band. Their trademark style full with energy makes them a reference for the likes of heavy music listeners.

Since the band's birth in 2004, they went through several line-up changes. However, their members never lost their consistency and have always thrived as a band, and as musicians. In June 2008, after a few months spent writing songs, they recorded "BURYING SAINTS", the debut album, recorded at Ultra Sounds Studios in Braga (Portugal). The album was produced, mixed and mastered by Daniel Cardoso, one of the greatest musical producers in Portugal. It features 12 songs filled with intensity and feelings, which certainly won't leave anyone holding any doubts regarding the value of this Lisbon-based band.

The heavy sound that is the calling card of BEFORE THE TORN was born from the passion their elements have for extreme music, always trying to break the boundaries of a country that is still narrow-minded towards this type of music. With great live performances, including opening acts for bands such as Converge and August Burns Red in 2008, this band is in the spotlight right now, which allows them to have a very solid fan base.

"BURYING SAINTS" is an album which comprises passionate screaming lyrics, brutal guitar riffs and technically advanced drumming. Altogether, this may very well be one of the greatest albums for the Portuguese music scene in 2009.

Os BEFORE THE TORN não são apenas mais uma banda portuguesa. O seu estilo característico, repleto de energia, torna-os numa referência para os seguidores deste estilo musical.

Desde a sua fundação em 2004, a banda passou por várias mudanças de alinhamento, sem ter por isso perdido a sua consistência e nunca deixando de apostar na sua própria evolução como banda, e como músicos em particular. Em Junho de 2008, após alguns meses de composição, gravaram o seu álbum de estreia "Burying Saints" no Ultra Sound Studios em Braga. O trabalho foi produzido, misturado e masterizado pelo conceituado Daniel Cardoso e é composto por 12 músicas intensas e cheias de sentimento, que certamente não deixarão ninguém indiferente a esta banda de Lisboa.

O som pesado que caracteriza os BEFORE THE TORN nasceu da paixão dos seus elementos pela música extrema, tentando ultrapassar barreiras num país com uma cultura fechada no que diz respeito à música. Com grandes actuações ao vivo, a banda capturou a atenção de muitas pessoas e com isso ganhou uma sólida base de fãs.

"BURYING SAINTS" é um álbum que, desde as letras escritas com garra, às guitarras harmonizadas em acordes poderosos, passando pelas baterias rápidas e técnicas, constitui aquilo que poderá ser um dos registos musicais em maior evidência no panorama musical em Portugal no ano de 2009.
