"Doomed" review by Just Jarrod for Hardtimes.ca. Thank you...... Significant Findings: "This is an angry lion that has been held captive for almost 3 years and finally let loose; just clawing, snarling, raging, and ripping everything in its path to shreds. Every song is super heavy and pulverizing. Beg for Life make no apologies when it comes to their approach to heavy hardcore. They are not trying to reinvent the wheel here but rather offer a breath of fresh air and originality to a dead horse that has been kicked way too many times. This is refreshing and will probably make even the most passive fan want to smash someone in the neck, just saying." Possible Diagnosis: This is a self made band that literally built a hardcore scene around them. The songs are precise and tight and each one different from the others. You can’t listen to this CD and feel like you’re listening to one long 30 minute song. You can tell a conscious effort was made to set each song apart while maintaining a common thread. It’s heavy and fast like a locomotive. The vocals are intelligible and pissed not growly. Take note, these boys know their hardcore history and it shows. There is a prominent nod to the greats who came before them and that is important in a scene that has been oversaturated with non gender boy bands who happen to stumble on “heavy” riffs and force some kind of sad excuse for a breakdown. This is the real deal. Note worthy tracks include “Means to an End”, “Unholy Serpent”, and “Embracing Failure”.
