About me:
In 2006 Hielke Zevenbergen (32) and Menno Otten (22) found each other when Menno was directing the short video "Aardvarck & U-gene - Track 4", in witch Hielke was playing the main role. Soon after they decided to join forces and to start the VJ-Distrikt BEHANG!. Packed with a video-mixer and two computers they decided to start VJ-ing in a way Dj's mix their sounds. They both have an enormous amount of samples stuffed in their computers and with the mixer in between they battle each other pushing one another to the max. They created a way to "trigger" original old-skool classics with a joystick so that it fits exactly on the beat. Their samples go from the old-skool Fred Astair dancing, to the Avant Garde cinema and from the new Solaris back to the early work of Vertov. At this moment they spread their visuals all over the country. They recently joined forces in creating the visual aspect of parties such as REDNOSE DISTRICKT, ONTFRONT, DRIE KEER NIKS, SKIP INTRO, JE MOEDER, and ELECTRONATION . You can find BEHANG! monthly in the finest clubs with the finest Dj's (O.Boogie, Rednose Distrikt, Edzon). Just recently they started joining U-GENE (Urban Dance Squad, Anouk, Candy Dulfer) and the HYDROMATICS! With their production team and crew members they join forces as: Pure Moods (founded early 1998). Lennart Verstegen on camera & Evelien v.d Molen on sound. With Pure Moods they are responsible for the creation of the videoclips of Aardvarck & U-Gene, short documentaries, short installations and the new feature film coming up. Pure Moods stands for video-productions in wich the independence and the freedom of creating something uniqe and fresh is the main guide.
