Country Hit Makers: Behind The Hits
will introduce your audience to the singer/songwriters responsible for the chart topping hits of todays biggest country stars.
Brett James and Hillary Lindsey are two of the most successful songwriters of the decade and are among the elite of Nashville’s storied song writing tradition. In 2007 Brett and Hillary, along with long time friend & co-writer Gordie Sampson (also to be featured in the show), won a Grammy and ASCAP Country Song of the Year honors for the hit single “Jesus Take The Wheel”, recorded by American Idol mega-star, Carrie Underwood.
In 2007, Brett had another chart topper and Most Played Country Single to his credit with the Billboard Hot Country 3 “You Save me”, recorded by Kenny Chesney. Brett also won 2006 ASCAP songwriter of the year honors and was the only songwriter who appeared on Billboard magazine's year-end top-ten country songwriters list for each of the previous five years. Today, his biggest successes have come with Billboard Hot Country 1’s from Kenny Chesney “When the Sun Goes Down,” “Out Last night”, Jessica Andrews “Who I Am,” Martina McBride “Blessed,” and Rodney Atkins “It’s America.”
In 2002 Hillary Lindsey enjoyed her first No. 1 single, “Blessed,” which she co-wrote with Brett and was recorded by Martina McBride. Since then she has penned some of todays most memorable songs for such artists as Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack, and Jessica Andrews, to name just a few. To date, Hillary’s biggest achievements have paralleled the unprecedented success of Carrie Underwood having written five of the seven 1 singles Underwood has released since winning American Idol in 2005.
In this show, this spectacular vocal tandem will perform all of the afore mentioned hits as well as two duets and a few songs of their choosing in segments called “Songs I Wish I Had Written” and “My Favorite Flops!”
This show offers the symphony pops a value program that delivers the music of today’s pop country power artists as performed by the writers behind the songs that keep them famous.
Behind The Hits is certain to have broad appeal to the pops subscribers of today and the concert goers of tomorrow!
