About me:
Behind the Velvet Curtain is a gift store in Ashland Oregon, home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We are located down the hall from Fabric of Vision and Gallery Gimbel at 145 East Main Street, between Pioneer and 1st Street. We have a unique line of gifts, including Oculatum spa candles, European homewares and lighting,(including Tord Boontje), unusual barware, dishware, jewelry, fine writing accessories, odd rubber stamps, strange novelties, Edward Gorey and Andy Worhol gift wrapping supplies, cute and odd soaps by Gianna Rose Atelier, and for the more discerning gift-giver, D.L.&Co.'s Memento Mori Silver Skull Plates, Claw-footed candle holders, Victorian Correspondence Box with skull stationery, Black Wax Skull candle, Silver Presentoir Tray and his Modern Alchemy candle line. We have been called "Grown-Up Goth," we've been called the oddest gift store in Ashland. But even those with a not-so-dark bent have found happiness in our odd world. Come see what's new and unusual.
..
We cater to all ages when it comes to darker homewares, jewelry, candles, gift items, and novelties. These are not your mothers plastic skulls (although we have those too!)
People who prefer a darker motif and are having a difficult time finding appropriate yet tasteful accessories, homewares and lighting for their home. If you have suggestions about items we should be carrying in our store, we welcome your ideas. If we end up carrying an item you suggest in our store, you will receive a $20 shopping certificate. (This does not pertain to items we already are carrying when you suggest it.) If you are an indie artist or have your own company and have items that you feel are appropriate to our store, please contact us. We may have been trying to find you already! We have many indie artists, men and women, already supplying our store, and being paid fairly for their creativity. Our customers love your products, so keep those creative juices flowing. We have a reputation for carrying very unusual and captivating items, and indie artists and small businesses are a big part of that.
How often do I find myself missing the small walk it was to see you afternoons and nights and opening up to the beauty you offered. I miss you dearly and really hope our paths will connect us soon..
anyways...yeah..i told dad i wanted to go and he said he'd get tickets when they go on sale.
so that's pretty sweet.
i'm excited.
that should be a good show. :)
Every time I walk through your doors I feel like I'm stepping into a Poe novel, oftentimes fighting the urge to tear up the floorboards in order to see what that noise is I’m hearing beneath.
And eh..my lifes been pretty damn sucky lately.
I'm waiting for Gramma to finish up taking care of Bob, so we can clean up her place, and I'm going to go stay over there.
I think that'd be better.
Things here have just been way to crazy, and I hate having everything be blamed on me.
So i think getting out of the house for a while will be good for my health, cause I feel like I'm gonna have a heart attack, I'm always having chest pains now, but never when I'm home. So maybe taking a breather will be good.
And yeah I went to see the invisible on friday night, all alone.
I felt kinda lame..but oh well.
