Beki Hemingway is a singer/songwriter based first and currently in Denver, with stops in Chicago, Nashville, and Glasgow along the way, and she writes and sings some of the best songs you've never heard.
Her long and varied career has found her playing in several bands, including hysterical punkers This Train, as well as singing live and studio backup vocals on everything from industrial to inspirational music in Chicago. She went solo in 1997, and has been steadily gathering acclaim ever since.
She has released 5 CDs on Minneapolis-based indie Salt Lady Records, performing up to 150 shows per year, sharing the stage as an opener for such acts as Shawn Colvin, Aimee Mann, Pierce Pettis, Lowen & Navarro, and Vigilantes of Love.
After a two year break, Beki is writing for a new CD and beginning to fill the calendar with live performances with guitarist/producer husband Randy Kerkman.

Long time, and I'm an idiot. Thanx so much for sending Kirsten a postcard. That was soooooo cool. We just got the cards back yesterday - so I didn't know who sent them in.
Hey Beki, What is that craziness that happens between 1:51-2:04 on Siouxanne? I had to back it up to make sure that my ears weren't playing tricks on me. That was pretty cool.
Hey, thanks Beki! That is a high compliment coming from you. Wish we lived closer to you and Randy. You're in Denver now? Let's do some shows together sometime.
What a great show in Glasgow tonight. Thought I'd post a comment even though you guys are asleep in the next room. It was great of you to come and we loved chatting to you and Randy. Be blessed.
I tried to email you from your website, but it's not working for me. I have a tour question, costs, something special. I want to keep it private and not post my email for all to see here. Can you help? Thanks, Carol (Anson's wife)
Beki, Go to my space and click on Julie Lee and also the Ditchlilies to hear a couple of my favorite new things! Julie Lee is AMAZING!!! Not sure if it'll be your cup of tea or not but ...maybe! Miss ya!
Since my first PasteMusic Sampler (99, I think), I have been a fan of yours. THANK YOU so much for the add!
Your songs are like wine: Sometimes they enhance the moment. Sometimes, they help deal w/ the moment. Sometimes they make you love the moment. And sometimes...they are so full of ferment - they pop like champagne...to celebrate the moment.
I really don't know what to think of that pic...of course, I haven't changed mine in ages...did you say you were coming to Chicago for New Year's? (Ha ha)

Saw a couple episodes of "Top Design," Bravo's interior design version of Project Runway. Not great, don't like the judges. And, the tag line for when someone has to go home is 'see you later decorator.'
