The legend of Beliar.....
March of 2007 is the time Beliar started to write dark, atmospheric, bombastic songs.
The band then consists of Mauro (vocals) Marius (bass, backing vocals), Job (keys), Jeroen (drums) Robin (guitar) and Jelle (guitar).
After a year of playing gigs and writing songs, in February 2008 Mauro quits the band and Marius takes over the lead vocals.
In September 2008, Beliar released their first demo-cd called “Echoes From The Past”. It was a 5 track demo and recorded on their home PC in the rehearsal room, which was the reason for the bad quality.
Beliar played more than 50 gigs since 2007, not only in the Netherlands but also in Switzerland, Poland, Belgium and Germany they conquered the stages.
Now in 2009, Beliar made a tremendous musical growth and recorded a 4 track promo-cd at the Raff-records studio. It’ s a concept EP about a local legend called: “De Bokkenrijders”, a 18th century story about a time of robbery’s, blasphemy and fear. Songs became more black, melodic, symphonic, faster and more frightening. Also Dark Fortress vocalist Morean did some guest vocals for the song “Paled Flesh Mysterium”.
During the recording sessions some musical problems appear with Marius and Marius leaves the band. In Yarno they found a new vocalist. The bas-guitar will not be replaced.
Now Beliar is ready to let the fans meet with the Bokkenrijders story also live on stage!
